Desert Steppe or Dry Steppe

In the transient areas between grass steppe and desert, regions with naked soil are increasing significantly. Sometimes, a special form of steppe evolves – the salt steppe. Plants growing in salt steppe are adapted to the salty soil. Periodic waters and ephemeral rivers are common. Often, they end in pans without discharge and form salt lakes. In desert steppe, agriculture is only possible with artificial irrigation.
