Precipitation in Sub-Sahara Africa and its Impact

Countries in Sub-Saharan Africa highly depend on precipitation. The amount of precipitation has influence on food security and on the economic development of the country.
The graphic shows the decrease of precipitation over the last 30 years. As the precipitation decreased, so did the economic development.

Irrigated land (agriculture) represents a major share of the economy of these countries, as well as for domestic food supply.
Improved water resources management and a wider resource base are essential to the stability and security that is required for economic development
